Marianne's flat The best in town
The area of Parvis de Saint Gilles
Marianne's Flat is located in a quiet street closed to the living Parvis de Saint Gilles - famous for its daily market and Brussels type cafés, in the famous Horta quarter with plenty of Art Nouveau houses designed by the Belgian architects Victor Horta and Paul Hankar.
Walking to the Grand Place in the city center - Brussels Main Square - requires no longer than 15 minutes. Following the "Rue Haute", the most direct way to the center will take you through the Marolles district where a very typical Flea Market takes place every morning of the year. If you prefer buses and trams, you are only 5 stops far from the historical center.
Following the direction opposite to the city center, you are 15mn away from the Chatelain district, very famous for its restaurants, bars and nice shops, but most of it for the Horta Museum dedicated to the architectural Art Nouveau style.
Marianne's Flat is only 2 metro stations far from the Eurostar, TGV and Thalys railway station called "Bruxelles Midi" - Brussels South station. On metro line 2, you must stop at "Hôtel des Monnaies". Using the metro, you can easily access any other part of the city, such as the European Institutions area located at Schuman metro station.
If you feel like having some fresh air or go for a jogging in a quiet park, a pleasant walk through the higher part of Saint-Gilles will allow you to discover the "Duden park". On your way back, enjoy a Belgian draught beer with some Belgian cheese at the famous Moeder Lambick bar.
